Moving to Another Computer

Important

The following instructions apply only to the case where the version on the old machine is identical to the version on the new machine. If you are both upgrading to a new version and moving to another computer at the same time, do not follow the instructions below. Instead, refer to the Migration Guide for the latest version of Robo-FTP Server, which can be found on the main download page at https://www.robo-ftp.com.

1)Export settings from the old machine and import them on the new one using the "Export" and "Import" buttons in the Server Console Administration page

2)After you import the settings file, make sure that any files or folders referenced in your command scripts or Server Console settings also exist on the new computer. Note: The contents of the \ProgramData and \UserData folder are automatically included in the settings files restored in Step 1. Unless the Root Folders for both FTP and SFTP Servers are set to the default location under ProgramData\, they will also need to be moved to the new computer.

3)If any of your scripts include the DBUSE command with the /odbc option to specify an ODBC DSN, you will need to recreate the associated ODBC DSN on the new computer.

4)Test to be certain everything is working to your satisfaction on the new machine and then click the "Activate Software License" button on the License menu in the Server Console. Follow the on-screen instructions in the license wizard window to transfer the license from the old machine to the new one.
