User Settings vs. Shared Settings

When a conflict arises between the current user's configured settings and the shared system settings, Robo-FTP is controlled by the current user's settings. When a user without administrative privileges saves settings in the Configurator the new values are only available to that specific user account. By default, when settings are changed using an account with administrative privileges on the local machine, the configured values apply for all other users of the machine who have not explicitly configured a conflicting value.

Administrators may change the default behavior by using command line switches when launching the Configurator program. An administrator may choose this approach if she wants to save  his own personal settings that do not apply to other users of the machine.

For the purposes of this document, it is assumed that any local administrator will have permission to create, modify and write to the system registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE key and to create, modify, and write files in Robo-FTP's installation folder.
